poet's commentary - i'm proud to say that this is the first poem that i've crafted that was not based from my personal experience. 'feels great to know that i can put myself on other's shoes and start acting like i am them. this also proves that i can write a poem with very simple lines in contrast to my previous poems that are dark, deep and melancholic. this poem was triggered by two friends from www.myspace.com ; mimiel for those one-liner joke exchanges about loneliness and the rain and chryss for suggesting that i should write something positive about love. credit also belongs to clem snide* for their single "moment in the sun" after listening to that song over and over again. ok, enough said...read on.

FINDING LOVE IN THE RAIN
by arkmikel

she said she's sad because of the rain
maybe its because it refreshes her pain
so i sat beside her to hear her story
i listened well and told her not to worry

i too feel lonely on downpours like this
makes me think of the things that i miss
she took a deep breath and she smiled
a smile so innocent like that of a child

she touched me, held my hand for a while
my heart's beating like i've ran a mile
then she whispered something in my ears
will you please take away all my fears?

hush, i'm here, everything's gonna be fine
i embraced her and i crossed the line
she cried and i gave her my shoulder
i'm praying that this would last forever

yes, dark and lonely this night may be
but this rain can't take her away from me
this night is such a wonderful bliss
for i have her now and her sweet kiss
